A few days ago, our restaurant Comme Chai Toi, nestled at 13 Quai Montebello in the 5th arrondissement, had the immense privilege of being the setting for an absolutely unforgettable moment: a marriage proposal!

They’d been in love for five years already, and to celebrate this wonderful anniversary, our guest had planned everything down to the last detail. Snuggled up in our cozy veranda with a breathtaking view of Notre-Dame, the couple first took the time to savor the moment. What could be more romantic than the lights of Paris sparkling on the water, setting the tone for an evening like no other?

An Exceptional Dinner for a Special Evening

The celebration began gently, as it should, with two glasses of sparkling champagne raised in a toast to their love. On the culinary front, the food lovers opted for one of our signature dishes, perfect for sharing: our generous rib of beef to share, tender to perfection and bursting with flavor.

Then, when dessert arrived, the suspense ramped up a notch. The couple succumbed to the house’s signature dessert, a true treasure trove of sweetness that was the perfect finishing touch to their meal.

It was in the midst of this bubble of happiness—amid laughter, shared joy, and delicious food—that it all happened. At just the right moment, between two smiles, our guest got down on one knee to ask for the hand of his partner of the past five years.

Amid the palpable emotion, tears of joy, and a resounding “YES!” echoing through the veranda, the entire Comme Chez Toi team’s hearts were racing for them. We’re so proud to have helped make this evening magical and to have provided this couple with a setting worthy of their beautiful story.
